Apparently, Ecto should now be a-okay w/the new WP 1.5.1.3. This means no extraneous line breaks, proper formatting of text without extra weird line breaks and a slew of other things. I know my blog is by no means the “average setup” because I’ve made many personal modifications myself, installing various plugins and what-not to set it up how it is. I gotta say, while I love WP, this was all much easier in MT.
That having been said, I think WP is where it’s at. Fuck MT and their pay-to-use system. Blogging software isn’t something I’m opposed to paying for, per se, but I’ll never in a million years understand why MT chose not to just use PHP includes for things, and instead build all the pages static. That makes it a major pain in my ass, and has caused many confused clients of mine to throw their hands in the air – no one wants a debriefing on the differences between static and dynamic webpages if they can avoid it.
WP, by contrast, uses PHP extensively for all of its functions and layout. It’s quite a noble and forward-thinking little system. And, it’s free. That is why I’ve rid myself of the shackles of MT and moved everything to WP.
Ahh what a stupid post this was.
