I fucking loved it. I thought it was his best show yet – because it showed him being more comfortable with concepts instead of bits.

What it reminded me of is Bill Cosby’s “Himself”. Makes me think he recently went back and re-watched that special. And thought “yeah.. I like that vibe. I wanna try that vibe for awhile”. Maybe not literally – but he at least had a similar mindset, that his audience was attentive enough to handle it and he was comfortable enough to explore it. It seems to be no accident that he’s mentioned “Himself” a few times in recent interviews.

When you’re a younger comic, you have to think in 10 minute increments (or less). At the level …

I just finished redesigning this site, making a few minor changes here and there, speeding up the loading of everything, adding a new search engine, and … basically just giving it a refresh. I plan to redesign it again probably in a few months, but this works better for now than what I was previously working with.

It lacks personality and “flair”, I know. That’s the idea behind the next big redesign – to give it a “Mitcz” feeling. This is just me being professional guy and cleaning out the pipes. It’s easier to see everything at a glance this way without too much eye-mashing or scrolling.

Also, I brought back the “Add A Quote” feature. I missed having it around, so.. …

My Unified Theory of Everyone breaks down into three personalities :

Type 1

I’m fine with myself, and I’ll take everyone as they come. I’m open to new friends, but I don’t need to be friends with everyone. I’ll act like myself in public and try not to make anyone uncomfortable, and reveal the parts of myself I feel comfortable with revealing.

Type 2

For some reason, people don’t like me or don’t like talking to me. I have few, if any, friends. I’d love to meet new people, so I’ll welcome any and all offers because I’d love to be in a position where I can turn people away. As it stands, I feel like a weirdo/creep/freak and I’m alone far more often

This is basically a follow-up joke to one of my newer bits “the etymology of sucking dick” (here’s a clip of that, from a night at the Jon Lovitz Comedy Club), wherein I take another common phrase we don’t think much about, and wonder if a more apt term is available.

I’ve been wanting to make this one for awhile, but I was struggling to make sure I could get all of my thoughts on the matter into a relatively short timespan. Ideally, it would’ve only been about 4 minutes long, but I don’t think the extra minute will hurt it too much.

Curious to see the reaction from people, for better or worse, so feel free to leave some comments on the YouTube page.

After having my good friend and fellow comedian Justin Dabuet swing by Aural Salvation the other night, we got to talking about doing a show with a focus on stand-up comedy, and just riffin’ back and forth with funny guests about news, society, pop culture, and whatever else was going on around us.

With that, we’ve come up with Straight Riffin’. A show without boundaries and taboos, and a place to bring our fellow comedian friends on to talk shit on anything and everything. I’m looking forward to it, and I think you’ll dig what we’ve got cooked up. Our first show is this Monday (tomorrow) at 7pm PST (10pm EST) and will continue every Monday thereafter for …

If you’re reading this, you’re looking at an all-new RevMitcz.com. I’ve imported all my blog entries from Mitcz.com (which reach back to my first-ever blog entry, from the LJ days in 2001), brought in all my YouTube shit, and cleaned up the site to be a central hub for all my shit.

It’s occurred to me that people who catch some aspect of my projects (Mitcz the Expert, Mitcz & His Dad, Aural Salvation, my stand-up comedy) weren’t immediately obvious to people who may have seen other projects I was involved in. To put it simply : finding out all of what I do and the ways I attempt to entertain meant googling around and/or going to multiple sites. That’s not …

A somewhat-lengthy piece all about my first comedy special, the aftermath, and some shameless self-promotion.

In this episode, I explain the caveats of casual sex vs. monogamy, and why I might have a solution for those who feel guilt over the whole thing.

I was hit with a hair-brained theory about why so many dudes (myself included) will continually be absentee lovers, dismissive, perhaps even outright unfaithful and then pretend we “didn’t mean it” or make up some lame excuse and try to proclaim “but… baby! I LOVE YOU!”. I don’t purport to be above that level – I’ve never been the model of good decision making and undying love as a boyfriend. Instead of “fixing” that, I just stay single. This way, I’m only hurting strangers, right?

Anyway, so there’s this really great Snow Patrol song Make This Go On Forever, and I became curious about who/what the situation was that he was writing about. Googling around, I found all these attempts
